Explorer Belt 2023

The challenge of a lifetime

This summer, 66 Scouts aged 16-25 from Cheshire will embark on a two-week international expedition to mainland Europe to achieve their Explorer Belt Award.
This is one of the most prestigious awards available to young people in Scouts. In small teams, the mission is to experience a different way of life and find opportunities to engage in local cultures while completing projects along the way.

This is probably going to be one of the most difficult but amazing things I’ve done.

EB23 Participant
They will spend ten days on a self-led expedition, crossing The Netherlands, Belgium or Germany by foot, bike, horseback or kayak having planned their own route, managed a budget and booked accommodation and organised a meal plan. This award is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our young people and will undoubtedly have a profound impact on their lives. Thank you very much for your interest and support.
