Cheshire Beaver Scouts

Try new things. Make new friends. Joining Beavers is just the beginning of your big adventure.

Beavers are the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cubs, between 8 and 8.5 years old.

Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.

Some Beaver Scout Colonies also organise ‘sleepovers’. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often Scout centres.

Want to join Beavers in Cheshire?
We offer a group finding facility on the Cheshire Scouts website. All you need to do is enter your postcode and it will show you a list of groups in order of distance from the postcode you have entered. This will allow you to see where the most local groups are to your area. You can access the group finder by clicking here.

Beaver Scouts 35th Anniversary

#CheshireBeavers35

Join the party!
Beaver Scouts celebrate their 35th Anniversary this year! Until the Easter holidays in April 2022, we are giving colonies in Cheshire the chance to join us in celebrating the 35th year of Beaver Scouts. To kick off the birthday celebration, we are inviting Beavers and leaders to take part in completing 35 challenges over the next seven months.

Promise To The Planet

Act now. Change tomorrow.

By 2023, all Cheshire Groups and Units will have achieved or completed an environmental project or taken climate action, impacting their local community in a fun, inclusive and youth-led manner.

We would like every Group and Unit in Cheshire to undertake an environmental project or take local climate action in 2022. This could be as inspiring as a youth-led discussion about global issues or as epic as building a conservation garden in your local area.

The Chambonauts

3, 2, 1… Blast off!

The countdown to Cheshire’s space-themed International Jamboree has begun! Run ever four years, Chamboree attracts over 5,000 Scouts and Guides from all over Cheshire. Tatton showground buzzes with excitement and activity and Explorer Scouts get to camp on their own separate subcamp and engage in a jam-packed week of activities, events and challenges.

The Chamboree Programme Team have put some activities together to get you excited for the big event! We’ve recommended the age range suitability of an activity, but don’t hesitate to check out the activities and their suitability for your programme! To help leaders we’ve provided links to the Scout & Guide badges.

If you’ve got any more ideas to offer, we’d love to hear from you. Share them by emailing our Chamboree Programme Team.

Why not share your photos & videos with us! @Chamboree #Chambonauts
