As civilian deaths continue to rise following three weeks of deadly violence, Cheshire Scouts joins World Scouting and the international community in calling for an immediate end to this cycle of devastating hostilities. World Scouting is horrified by the deteriorating humanitarian conditions and mourns the loss of lives, including our fellow Scouts. Over 8,000 lives have so far been lost, including thousands of children, with the death toll set to rise.
World Scouting firmly opposes violence and calls for an immediate end to all hostilities, ensuring the safety and protection of civilians and respecting human dignity. World Scouting is particularly concerned about the welfare of children and youth, and stands ready to support the delivery and promotion of our core message of peace and aid humanitarian efforts.
In the face of unimaginable dangers, Scouts continue to support humanitarian efforts on the ground, mobilising for rescue and evacuation efforts, and providing first aid to the injured and mental health support to children and families impacted. Cheshire Scouts joins World Scouting in commending Scouts in Palestine and Israel showing courage and bravery as a testament to the resilience and compassion of Scouts to help those in need.
