Activity Permit Training

Between: 14th May 2022 - 15th May 2022 Location: Forest Camp Activity Centre Sections: Adult Volunteer

The County Team are keen for leaders to undertake Adventurous Activity Permit training.   The more leaders who gain these permits means that we can organise even more adventurous activities for the young people.

The  Activity Permit Training sessions to be offered are:

  • Climbing Wall, 24 places
  • Archery, 12 places
  • Shooting, 12 places
  • Raft building, 12 places

Please book on here, then e-mail [email protected] stating your top 3 preferred session(s) in preference order.

The technical sessions will begin on the evening of Saturday 14th May – following the Skills Training Event and the practical training of the permits will take place the next day – Sunday 15th May.

The Begg Building has been booked if you wish to stay over – limited number – or you can camp.   The training sessions are free and accommodation/camping fees and full catering are included.

You may wish to attend the full weekend – taking part in the Skills Training event (completing Module 18) and then start working towards gaining an Activity Permit that interests you.

Please note that attending a session will not guarantee you a permit but will certainly help towards gaining one. Shooting is not covered by the Adventurous Activity Permit scheme and this will be primarily a taster session. Leaders who wish to deliver shooting in Scouting will need to complete the YPS Tutor course. These are run regularly in South West Cheshire.

Look forward to seeing you in May.
