New DC’s

The following change in DC’s was announced to take effect on 1st February 2020.

  • David Giles (currently DC Alderley) will become DC in Macclesfield & Congleton.
  • Will Burnham (currently DDC in Alderley) will become DC in Alderley.
  • Neil McAleece will become DC in Knutsford.

The County Commissioner commented;

“Collectively this represents a significant change in three Districts and I believe all three appointments will help deliver effective front line Scouting over the coming years. I am very grateful to Val Thomason who has been covering Knutsford District and Martin Relton who has been covering Macclesfield & Congleton while the search for new DC’s has been underway.

We should all be proud that Cheshire Scouting continues to find quality people to lead quality Scouting and take on these demanding but highly rewarding roles. Go Cheshire!Discover More

Census

Every Leader has a part to play in making sure the Cheshire census results are truthful, accurate and delivered on time. AS a Leader you need to support your GSL in gathering the data so that they can complete the Group return on time. Unless of course you use OSM because all of this can be achieved at the press of a button!

Here are the deadlines;

  • Friday 31 January – The Census date
  • Fri 8 February  – Groups need to have completed their census return for review by District Commissions.
  • Fri 15 Feb – All Districts to have signed off their District Census return

All you DC’s are keen to support you if you have any difficulties. At the same time they do not want to be on the list of shame by missing their deadline, so help them be the first to sign off their District.Discover More
