Dave Hopley has officially taken up the reigns from Graham Phillips, who completed his 12-year term of office on the 31st January.
After giving a personal thanks to his predecessor, Dave expressed how:
‘Scouting helped me as a young person gain skills and find my place in the world. And I truly believe that Scouting is more important now than ever before, to give young people a sense of connection and belonging. To give hope to a generation, to develop skills for life.’
Dave acknowledged that:
‘Clearly, the last ten months have been very challenging and certainly the next few months will continue to be. But we will see a return to more face-to-face Scouting during 2021 and I am confident that Cheshire has the agility to lead the way with rebuilding Scouting.’ |
