Scouting at Home
We appreciate how many leaders really want to be delivering face-to-face Scouting and that many young people are getting “Zoomed out”.   However, the priority at the moment has to be to keep people safe and we all need to double our efforts to deliver engaging online activities for as many young people as possible.
There is great resource available on Scouts.org.uk where you can simply press and play great programme ideas.  You can have Beavers/Cubs making Chinese Window Flowers, your Scouts/Explorers creating bottle boats and there is a great session for Explorers (and Leaders would find it really interesting) about Leadership presented by Captain Luke from the Sandhurst Military Academy.

Another challenge for parents at the moment is home schooling so here is a list of useful links created by teachers that might be helpful.

Another Training first in Cheshire

Cheshire Scouts are working with Merseyside Scouts and Isle of Man Scouts to deliver the manager training modules remotely.  These will be the first manager training modules delivered since the first lock down in March 2020 and as far as we know the first in the North West Region.  Places are limited to 24 and there is a time commitment required to complete the training modules BUT now you can do the training in the comfort of you own home.
If there is a demand more courses will be added and when full face-to-face Scouting resumes this training will once again be offered in the more traditional fashion, if required.

These courses are for managers (GSLs, ADC’s, ACC’s, DC’s)
