Shoutout for HeroesWe have added a new page to the Cheshire Scouts website so that Leaders can give a shoutout to anybody they know, connected to Scouting who is a hero supporting the effort to beat the current crisis. It can be another Leader, a family member of a group member or somebody who just helps your Group out occasionally. The rules are simple if they are a key worker or somebody volunteering to help others and they have a connection to Scouting in Cheshire then let’s give them a shout out. Clearly this includes people working in the NHS and care sector but let’s not forget those working in supermarkets and local shops. We know there are others working to keep schools open, keeping our transport links open for key workers, there are those working behind the scenes in local authorities and the list goes on. Use this simple form to nominate somebody you know who is a Covid-19 hero. |

#HomeScouting ChampionsThis week we have sent out over 50 ‘Well Done and Thank You!’ certificates to #HomeScouting Champions. These are in recognition of those Groups who have embraced Scouting at home. There are two ways you can receive a certificate, if you post at least three different posts on our social media channels showcasing your home scouting, you will be in with a good chance of receiving a certificate, or your DC can nominate you for a certificate. #StayAtHomeTV

Could you be a Local Training Manager?Cheshire Scouts have an enviable reputation for delivering more training and support to front line Leaders than any other Scout County in the region with more woodbadges awarded than a number of other Counties combined. It’s now time to take the next step by strengthening our team of Local Training Managers to have at least two in every District. You need a passion for supporting adults through our structured training programme, you must be a woodbadge holder and you need to have about 12 hours a month to give to this role. |
