Cheshire Scouts Newsletter – 25 April 2020

Promise House Party, 26 April 11:00am

A rather different version of County Scout Sunday will be streamed online tomorrow (Sunday 25 April) at 11am. You can simply watch or put your uniform on and join to remake your promise.
An accompanying programme is available to download here.
This virtual County Scout Sunday will be like nothing you have seen before. It will retain the key elements of our Law and Promise remake followed by a reflection on the support Cheshire Scouting gives to those people trying to keep us safe in these difficult times. You can watch the event here;

What does your Scout Group Shop Window Look Like?

The shop window for local Scout Groups is increasingly becoming their websites.
When you are looking to buy anything or join any club where do you look first?
Or where do you go to check them out?
For most people it’s online and the website.

Many Groups either don’t have a website or have something that really does not do them justice. The answer is a low cost, professionally designed website that has the correct branding, is regularly updated with national branding requirements and reflects the style and tone of both the National and County websites.

The leading UK company producing Scout websites is based in Cheshire (Kolodo) and is run by a Leader in Chester (Josh Diamond). A significant number of Leaders find they have time at the moment to pull together the Group information to create a website and now your DC’s have collectively negotiated a 20% discount off the creation of a Group website. The process Kolodo has developed to make populating the site is simple and straightforward, it requires no technical knowledge, you simply pull the information together, send it to Kolodo and let them work their magic.

With the 20% offer (expires on 30 April) you can have a starter website for your Group from as little as £190. To guarantee your 20% discount you simply have to register your interest and start the process off.

Register your interest and get started before 30 April to take advantage of this offer by clicking the link below. When you reach the page with all the details and more information pay special attention to the BLUE STRIP at the top of the page that you need to click to get a quote that automatically reduces the cost by 20%.

Could you be a Local Training Manager?

Thank you to those who have already replied to this opportunity. We are keen to hear from people, in particular, on the east side of the County (Knutsford, Macclessfield, Congleton, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge) but don’t let this put you off if you are interested in the role or supporting delivery of training.

You need a passion for supporting adults through our structured training programme, you must be a woodbadge holder (or very close to finishing your woodbadge training) and you need to have about 12 hours a month to give to this role. In the first instance drop the County Training Manager an email with a few details about your Scouting experience and your interest in this role.
