National News Round-Up

Zoom
Talks continue at a national level with Zoom about extending our partnership with them (fingers crossed!). More news on this in early November, before the current agreement ends on 21 November.

Changes in national restrictions – what this means for Scouts
All four UK governments confirmed that youth activities such as Scouts are essential to the development and wellbeing of young people, and should continue wherever possible. This means that all Districts in Cheshire are at AMBER.

Different ways to remember
As most Scouts will be unable to take part in public Remembrance events this year there are now some resources from HQ who have developed a range of new activities that you can do with your young people to commemorate the day.

#RaceRoundTheWorld begins

Next week will be the start line for the national new fundraising campaign, Race Round the World, which aims to support the 500+ groups hit hardest by COVID-19.

By virtually travelling around the world in teams led by our amazing ambassadors, everyone can help make sure that thousands of young people don’t miss the life-changing skills and experiences being a Scout can bring. All you need to do is get sponsored, complete your miles, and add them to your team’s grand total.

Find out which ambassadors are leading your team (including our fantastic new ambassador Saray Khumalo). More details will be released next week help Leaders with related activities for young people either face-to-face or virtually.
