We are incredibly proud that many Cheshire Scouters and family members already work in the NHS and they are working harder than ever. We also know that a number of Cheshire Scouters and family members who were retired NHS staff have answered the call to help our NHS and either delayed their retirement or decided to go back to support colleagues. We know a lot of Cheshire Scouters and family members work in the wider care sector and without them daily fulfilling their duties we really would be in a crisis. We know a lot of Cheshire Scouters are teachers working hard to supply home working tasks or actually in school looking after the children of key workers. We salute you. We know there are lots of Cheshire Scouters and family members working daily in jobs that are essential to keep the Country going and supporting front line NHS and Care services. We salute you. Everybody else just needs to play his or her part and follow government advice and stay home. Scouting continues, it might look different, it might feel different BUT it is still Scouting. |

Our Action PlanThis is a fast moving situation that changes daily so here are some bullet points from how Cheshire Scouting is trying to respond to current challenges. DC’s and core County Team are meeting weekly by conference call to coordinate our efforts, support each other and share best practice around Cheshire. A Digital Task Force has been formed to support DC’s in the delivery of local scouting remotely. This team is also looking at how the County can best support Districts and front line leaders. Here are some of the things achieved so far; We are pulling together ideas from around the world on how to inspire young people to become involved in Scouting at Home. Over the coming weeks this list of resources on the County website will grow. You can find the most up to date list at cheshirescouts.org.uk/homescouting Social Media We have launched a number of daily social media initiatives designed to support leaders and encouraging everybody to keep in touch with everybody and to support each other. #SelfieSunday #MondayMotivation #TipTuesday For #WellnessWednesday we’re launching; #ThrowbackThursday #FoneAfriendFriday #ShoutOutSaturday But there is more … CuBe a virtual camp with a weekend of activities Something for Leaders Above all STAY SAFE and thank you for everything you doing for Scouting in Cheshire. |
