The National Scout & Guide Sympony Orchestra and Concert BandApplications for the 2021 NSGSO and NSGCB course are now open for both the Symphony Orchestra and the Concert Band. The residential course is held in Stourbridge, West Midlands, with concerts held at prestigious venues in the Birmingham area, as well as our first ever completely joint concert between the NSGSO and NSGCB at Coventry Cathedral. The course runs from Sunday 1st August – Sunday 8th August 2021 and the closing date for applications is midnight on Saturday 12th December 2020. The course is hosted by Birmingham Scout County in conjunction with Girlguiding Birmingham but is open to applicants from across the UK who meet the selection criteria. HRH The Duchess of Cambridge today becomes Joint President of The ScoutsWe’re so pleased to announce that HRH The Duchess of Cambridge today becomes Joint President of the Scouts, alongside HRH The Duke of Kent to champion the power of Scouting and oversee the Council, the Scouts’ governing body. Her first move is to thank every Scouts volunteer across the UK for their brilliant work supporting families and communities during this challenging year. Thanking volunteers; championing young people The Duchess’ first engagement as Joint President is a visit to 12th Northolt Scouts, based in London, to thank them and all Scouts volunteers who have supported young people during lockdown. |
