Just look at what the County Youth Forum are up toEd Lunnon, County Youth Commissioner writes; Keeping Scouting going online is a key goal for the County Youth Forum. We have met online as a full forum and in smaller teams to discuss and plan how we can do this. We’ve got so many talented young people who have been doing great sessions in their respective groups and we have brought their ideas together so we can spread them more widely. Firstly, we have our #TipTuesday ‘How to’ videos from Alex Pegg. He’s put together the information about how to play various games over video calls, which are great ways to get young people engaged. Secondly, we have some resources coming out soon about other activities that can be done over video calls to enthuse your young people and keep them involved in week-to-week meetings. Then there are our competitions! Taskmaster began 2 weeks ago with some amazing entries and will carry on for at least 6 weeks. The cooking competition was made to inspire young people to get cooking and develop their skills and we’d love to see what people are making. Both of these ideas were created by youth forum members and then two separate sub-teams have developed them and created all of the materials to send out and then judge the entries each week. |

Have you seen the new Great Indoors Stage Badges? There are lots of great ideas with this programme for all sections, many of which could be part of your online meetings. Remember these badges can be worn on uniforms and like all staged badges it’s the highest of the three achieved that should be on the uniform. The others make great campfire blanket additions. |
