Chamboree hits the 6,000 mark (almost)

There are now very nearly 6,000 people registered on the Chamboree booking system that includes in excess of 300 staff members. The site services team moves on site this weekend with a “BIG BUILD” day on Sunday and then a full schedule of work to create the Chamboree village ready for Cheshire groups setting up camp on Thursday.

It’s a real International Affair

There will representatives from; Albania Angola Ascension Islands, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Kenya, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Spain, Sweden, United Arab Emirates.

It’s the extras that make Chamboree unique

Not only is Chamboree offering over 100 different activities but we have a circus, theatre with specially “written for us” production, a Ventura simulator ride and a stage set designed by West End designers. No other camp offers traditional afternoon tea for Leaders – that’s the Cheshire touch. Then there is the Leader training modules on offer and a programme of inspirational speakers. All of this makes Chamboree a little bit special.

VIPs

On Saturday we are hosting our Regional Commissioner, Andrew Corrie. Sunday see’s the arrival of Bear Grylls and on Monday Matt Hyde CEO of Scout Association will be joining us. On Wednesday the County is hosting a VIP reception with the Lord Lieutenant and around 60 guests to promote Scouting in Cheshire and show Scouting in action and how we are delivering the skills for life initiative.

Everybody should be very proud that your County can attract these high profile individuals and organise such a large event. Go Cheshire!

Thank you

To all the Cheshire Leaders and Groups attending thank you for your support, come to the event determined to have a great time because that’s what you will experience if you are positive from the start. To those few Cheshire Groups missing this unique event, we are sad you are not joining us.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
