Venue: 12th Warrington Scout HQ WA3 6AF
Refreshments provided, uniform not required.

County Scout Sunday

Come and join us in Chester on Sunday June 10th 2018.

Warrington West are this year’s host Scout District. This year our singing will be accompanied by The Josh Walker Band.

Assemble for the parade on Abbey Lawn, access through Abbey Gateway on Town Hall Square. Car parking in The Market Hall CP is free after 3pm.

Districts will gather together under the instruction of parade marshal Graham Shaw.

Once formed up we march out of Abbey Square, lead by Alderley District Scout Band, a circular route of the city centre streets.

The service includes an item when we all re-affirm our promises, section by section.

Also during the service a collection will be taken, this year this will be offered to MIND a mental health charity, in Cheshire.

This event is always masterminded by your Faith’s and Beliefs team, who are all looking forward to meeting you all again.

See you there!

Join the North West Region’s best County Team

Is the time right for you to join one of the most highly regarded County Teams in the UK? Cheshire Scouts have a number of key roles that need to be filled by motivated, committed leaders in Cheshire. The following roles can be combined with current Scout commitments if that is what suits you best. You have nothing to lose starting a conversation about how your skills could benefit thousands of young people in Cheshire.

ACC Beavers
Following the elevation of the current ACC Beavers to a Deputy District Commissioner role there is now a vacancy to lead our youngest youth section. The role essentially is to provide support to ADC Beavers in our 10 districts and the individual section leaders who are working with over 3,000 Beaver Scouts in Cheshire.

ACC Activities
Following the elevation of the current ACC Activities to Deputy County Commissioner in a neighbouring county there is now an opportunity to become the inspirational lead on the delivery of activities in Cheshire. This role requires somebody who understands the Scout permit scheme, is committed to extending the reach of these permits to section leaders throughout Cheshire and who is willing to provide inspirational support to the current assessors and permit holders.

Chamboree Newspaper Editor
We are looking for somebody who is prepared to be the editor of the daily edition of the Chamboree newspaper during the week commencing 29 July to 4 August 2018. The role requires somebody who is organised, can lead an enthusiastic team of young people acting as reporters and photographers, it needs somebody who can work under pressure and has a good command of the English language (including good skills in spelling and grammar). You will need to be on each and every site each day although it is not essential that you stay over night.

Data analyst
Cheshire Scouts has access to a wide range of data which can be used to support the development of Scouting in Cheshire, it can help to prioritise resources and potentially to have a very significant impact on the Scouting journey of young people. The challenge is to bring the disparate sources of information into one place and to develop ways to present the data, which is useful to all levels of the management team both at District and County level. This role requires somebody with a keen interest in collecting and managing data; it requires somebody with experience of taking data and presenting it, possibly in a dashboard format, so that it becomes useful and meaningful.

County Storage – can you help
We are looking for 1,000 – 2,000 sq ft of space to store equipment that will range from audio equipment to tents and promotional equipment. It needs to be somewhere with easy access (preferably direct access), 24/7 with much of this access being evenings and weekend. It needs to be dry with no damp and ground floor access. It needs a power supply for lights.

If you are interested in any of the roles above or have ideas to help with our storage requirements then email the County Commissioner [email protected]

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
