County Scout Sunday

Even if your Group or District is not actively taking part in this special event you can simply turn up in uniform, join your District at the assembly point or join one of your neighbouring Districts for the parade. You can also join the County Team as they parade.

The timetable is:

  • 14:45– Districts assemble by MEETING POINT on CATHEDRAL GREEN (see map below).
  • 15:00– The Parade will leave CATHEDRAL GREEN via ABBEY SQUARE ARCHWAY.
  • 15:30– Upon arrival back at Cathedral, alternate Districts will enter at the direction of the Stewards via the first door (Great West Door) or the second door (South Door).  Service starts with the procession and presentation of the Colours.
  • 16:15–Service concludes with the return of the Colours and the singing of the National Anthem. After the Service, the Parade will form up in St Werburgh Street for the return to CATHEDRAL GREEN where the parade will be dismissed.
  • 16:30– We should be on our way home.

It is always a spectacular day and this year we expect to make an even bigger impression as the WSJ contingent members from Cheshire form one group and follow the colour party at the front of the parade.
ALDERLEY District will lead the main Parade this year and are responsible for the service.

New ACC’s join Team Cheshire

I am pleased to announce some new Assistant County Commissioner’s who are joining the County Team to help deliver our objectives of quality Scouting to more young people. These appointments will further strengthen the support offered to managers in each District and in particular the Assistant District Commissioner’s in each District covering these particular areas.

World Scout Jamboree – It’s life changing!

The count down to the Cheshire contingent joining 45,000 Scouts from around the world at this years WSJ in America. We came across this fantastic picture that perfectly illustrations the transformation of young Scouts into amazing representatives of Scouting from their Group, District, County and Country. It was taken at the recent Mersey Weaver “black tie” event to celebrate completion of their fund raising efforts.

Enjoy a great day out & help Cheshire Scouts

The Royal Cheshire County Show
Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th June 2019
Each year Cheshire Scouts play a significant part at the Cheshire Show by providing volunteers to operate the ticket collection at gates; in return we are given a marquee and space to promote the work of Cheshire Scouts.
Over the last few years we have offered flexible volunteering, you will continue to be able to arrive and depart at whatever time suits your circumstances. Remember, providing you commit to at least four hours volunteering you can spend the rest of the day touring the Show. We are always short of staff, early morning, around lunchtime & late afternoon so please consider how you might be able to help us – how about doing a split shift using the middle of the morning or afternoon to look around the show and join us for a late lunch in Cheshire Scouts marquee after your shift. You might also consider splitting your tour of the show ground over both days by volunteering the morning one day and the afternoon the other day.
To join our team at the Royal Cheshire Show contact Cathy Bland by e-mail: [email protected] or by telephone: 01925 756724 (Mon, Tues, Wed) or 24 hour voicemail.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
