We celebrate #ThankYouDay
The past 18 months has given every one of us someone to say thank you to. National Thank You Day on Sunday 4th July is being celebrated in the UK alongside some amazing organisations including the NHS, and Royal Voluntary Service.
Whether it’s our young people who managed to learn from home, our neighbours, our Scouting volunteers, our key workers or our delivery drivers, we want to say thanks every single one of them. It was actually an Explorer Scout, Emma, from the North West of England who was one of the proposers of #ThankYouDay!
Dave Hopley, our County Commissioner, has recorded a message for everyone:
“The last twelve months have been difficult for everyone and we couldn’t have got through it without each other. I’d like to say thank you and give a cheers for all Cheshire Scouts amazing volunteers! Many are key workers, or have been supporting the effort to beat Covid-19, from making PPE, to fundraising for NHS charities and helping at vaccination centres. This crisis has reminded us all that when it really matters, we’re here for one another and that’s something to be grateful for! Let’s all join in on Sunday 4th July and say a great big thank you, together.”
It’s not only us that are celebrating. Chief Scout, Bear Grylls is supporting the day too, along with ambassadors Tim Peake, Steve Backshall, Ellie Simmonds, Ed Stafford and Dwayne Fields.
